Our Shoppers
Each shop is different, and therefore each shopper’s experience is unique. Even the same kind of shops can create widely different results. We are always happy to hear feedback from our shoppers, what they liked, what they learned, their favorite experience being a mystery shopper, etc. We welcome your feedback and would love to hear your thoughts!
What brought you to Secret Shopper?
A friend mentioned she did mystery shopping as a part time job when she was raising her toddler. I found it very interesting and she recommended Secret Shopper. I wanted something I could fit into my life that was not a daily or even weekly commitment to a specific work schedule.
What was your favorite/most enjoyable shop experience?
My favorite shop was an overnight shop at a hotel. It was so much fun to be able to take the family for the night to evaluate the hotel and spend 24 hours on property.
Which shops have you most enjoyed?
I love when I have shops that require me to create a background story. Those are a lot of fun.
I’ve most enjoyed retail shops primarily for the ease of the covert aspect. It is unlikely to be discovered as a shopper when you only need to act like a regular customer. It is easier to focus on all the details that need to be reported on for these types of shops. On the other hand, I also like a challenge and enjoy more specialty shop assignments as well, where you can pretend to have a specific career and have to play the part.

I’ve stayed primarily because of the kind and professional staff. I am confident that if I need anything my coordinator is just an email or a phone call away. How Can We Help Better Your Shopping Experience?
Your insight is important to us. Here are a few tips that might help those who are new to Secret Shopper, or mystery shopping in general.
What tips do you have for future shoppers?
Review the shop guidelines twice, once when the shop is assigned and again the morning of or just before the shop. I also find it helpful to make yourself a note with the important points to review right before arriving at the location to be sure all instructions are followed. Also, don’t stare at nametags if at all possible. Wait patiently until they are not looking directly at you to quickly glance down and capture their name.
What things did you wish you knew before and after becoming a Secret Shopper?
If you are the kind of person who likes to perform a little bit, if you have good writing skills, if you can listen well and attentively, and if you can observe honestly and factually then Secret Shopper might just be for you.
Who might benefit from being a mystery shopper?
I think anyone could be a mystery shopper, but it would be a great benefit for a college kid, senior citizens, stay at home parents, anyone who needs a little extra money.
